Thomas Lee Davis
Thomas Lee Davis, 92, died Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Northampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Jackson.
Mr. Davis was born, December 31, 1926, in Northampton County, son to the late Gilbert Lee and Lillian Irene Parker Davis. He retired from the Roanoke Rapids City School System after 30 years of service. Mr. Davis was a member and former Trustee of Galatia Baptist Church, as well as, a member of the Galatia Baptist Church Men. He was also a farmer and licensed electrician. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Davis Duncan.
Surviving are his nephews, John Duncan and wife, Laura; George Duncan and financee, Cathy Slate; Herman Duncan and wife, Deborah; and Joe Duncan and wife, Sherry; his brother-in-law, Connie Duncan, all of Galatia, NC. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Rev. Matthew Dupuy will conduct funeral services at Galatia Baptist Church Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to funeral services. Burial will follow in the Davis-Duncan Family Cemetery which is located beside the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be made in honor of Thomas Lee Davis to the Galatia Baptist Church Men: 1219 Galatia Rd., Seaboard, NC 27876.
Arrangements are being handled by Askew Funeral Service- Jackson Chapel, Jackson, NC.
